Shopping

Individual shopping in small boutiques and lovely reconstructed houses with a long history or in modern shopping malls.

Köpenick's Old Town Center

Old Köpenick is known for its unique island position between Spree and Dahme, for its baroque palace and the legendary captain. Köpenick's varied history reflects in its buildings in the old town center with its medieval lanes, its original gastronomy and small shops.

No matter if you are looking for precious leather clothing or a rare whisky, if you need glasses or a special scented oil - you will find it here. Fashion boutiques, hair dressers, nail salons, book- and CD-offers, wool, high quality beddings and Russian specialities, everything can be found here.

After the shopping tour you can eat at a restaurant or pause at a café and enjoy the waterscape. A stop at the ArsVivendi or the Waschhaus is always worth while.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11.00 a.m. you should plan to see the Captain and his guard at the street theater spectacle. All year long, small and large events and festivals take place in the old town center. The traditional "Köpenick Summer" is very popular (in 2009 for the 50th time) and also the event "Jazz in Town". Both take place in June, the Pub Music Festivals are in spring and fall of each year.
