Berlin is a cosmopolitan and eclectic metropolis, at present probably Europe’s most exciting city. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the reunification and the acceptance of Berlin’s function as overall German capital, Berlin has developed itself dynamically like no other metropolis.
Nowhere, history and future are as close as here. Gothic, baroque, classicistic but also modern architecture emboss the cityscape. Culture and art in museums and galleries, in theaters, operas and concert halls or at big events fascinate visitors. Shopping and adventure worlds are centers of attraction. And no matter where we go, we always see vestiges of this city’s eventful past.
Hardly any other metropolis offers big-city concentration and attractive areas of unspoiled nature at such close quarters.
