Nothing else has made Köpenick as popular as the cheap trick of the jobless and previously convicted shoemaker Wilhelm Voigt.
On October 16, 1906 he occupied the city hall, arrested the mayor, took the city treasury and accidentally exposed the German subservience of this time.
