Since 40 years, Hans-Detlev Hein is collecting almost everything that has to do with fire departments. His collection, which he exhibits in the cellar of his house, is known by national and international circles of experts. 

He collects helmets, uniform-jackets, nozzles, literature, medals and many things more. He collected them from all over the world, f. e. a leather helmet from Canada or a Prussian uniform from 1892. He also lends the objects to special exhibitions. Mr. Hein received the Federal Cross of Merit for his engagement.
