The museum of local history is located in “Johannisthal”. It represents the most different epochs of territorial development west of the “Spree” in southern Berlin. The collection of historical and industrial development and nationwide importance such as the Industrial Exhibition of 1896 in Treptow, the construction of the first airport in Johannisthal in 1909 and the completion of the Teltow canal in 1906 as well as the development of the economical and media location Adlershof offers comprehensive information to visitors. New changing exhibitions with historic pictures, posters, models, plates and concrete exhibits are regularly added to the permanent exhibition and themes. The museum is supported by a development association. The building is handicapped accessible and has an elevator (entrance through the yard).
