"This informative publication meets with our guests requests for those leisure time activities more and more", explains Katrin Reiche-Kurz, manager of the Tourismusverein Berlin Treptow-Köpenick.
The newly – in cooperation with the land surveying office - developed leisure time shows recommendable activity routes between Alt-Treptow and Hessenwinkel which is at the boarder to Brandenburg. Four routes between 12 and 36 km long are shown and described for cyclists, thereunder the „Mauer-Radweg“ which leads along the former Berlin Wall and has a length of 18 km from the Schlesische Busch at the Landwehrkanal to Bohnsdorf/Schönefeld. There are also many different route-suggestions for Nordic walkers and hikers. Those have a length of 5 to 25 km and the most beautiful and historic one leads around the Müggelsee. The best place to skate is the Treptower Park and Plänterwald (13 km), between Alt-Köpenick and Müggelheim (16 km) or around the WISTA-area in Berlin-Adlershof (3 km round). The recommended tours for water hikers are between 3 km (Gosener canal) and 32 km (big tour around the Müggelberge) long. The new leisure time card shows monuments, marinas, lidos, in- and outdoor swimmingpools, restaurants, pubs, hotels, campsites, churches, cinemas and theaters, bycicle leasing, boat leasing, shipping jetties and parking lots in the district. Detailed information and attractive pictures of sights along the tour through Berlin’s south-east from A as in Altstadt Köpenick or Archenhold Sternwarte to W as in WISTA or Wasserwerk Friedrichshagen (museum) are listed in this brochure. The folding map has a DIN A2 size and can be purchased at the Touristinformation at the Schlossplatz Berlin-Köpenick. Guests can also buy a new, attractive poster in DIN A1 size at a price of 2,00 €. The paths at the englisch landscape park on the Köpenick palace island are presently being reconstructed and the waterside area of the Frauentog will also be redesigned this year. Here, at the future lake bridge, a multifunctional building for water tourists with showers and toilets as well as bus and water bars is planned.
